BREAKING NEWS: Todd Chrisley Gives Daughter Savannah Parenting Advice From Prison: ‘Give Yourself Some Grace’

The Chrisley family saga, already rife with legal drama and emotional turmoil, took another poignant turn as Savannah Chrisley opened up about a heartfelt exchange

with her father, Todd Chrisley, who is currently serving time in federal prison. Despite the physical distance and the severe challenges they face, Todd continues

to provide steadfast support and guidance to his children — especially Savannah, who has taken on the daunting role of primary caretaker for her younger brother and niece.

On the January 31 episode of her popular podcast Unlocked With Savannah Chrisley, the 25-year-old reality star peeled back the curtain on the immense pressure she feels as the interim guardian for Grayson, 16, and Chloe, 10, while their parents navigate the harsh realities of incarceration.

“I don’t feel adequate sometimes,” Savannah confessed candidly. “Because I am not my mother; she is the kindest, most amazing person I have ever met. I always told myself, ‘If I’m half the mom she is, I’ll be okay.’ And in moments like this, I realize I’m more like her than I even thought because I’m getting through it.” The vulnerability in Savannah’s voice underscored the enormous responsibility she’s shouldering and the emotional resilience she’s had to summon.

The Chrisleys’ legal troubles began in earnest back in 2022 when Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted of bank and wire fraud, tax evasion, and conspiracy after a highly publicized three-week federal trial. Despite their pleas of innocence, the couple was sentenced to 12 years for Todd and seven years for Julie. The once-glamorous family, known from the hit reality series Chrisley Knows Best, has since been forced to navigate life without their patriarch and matriarch at home.

Yet Todd remains a vital presence in his children’s lives, even from behind bars. Savannah shared a touching letter her father sent to her after she reached out for advice via email — a rare and precious connection in a time of isolation.

“I want you to give yourself some grace,” Savannah read aloud, her voice brimming with emotion. “Fall in love with the real Savannah — the one who radiates grace and compassion, not the one the world wants to see. Remember, to gain the world, you lose your soul. And then, what do you have?”

These words, penned from a prison cell, offer a glimpse into Todd’s enduring wisdom and love. His message was not only a balm for Savannah’s self-doubt but also a reminder of the importance of authenticity and inner peace amidst chaos.

Todd’s note extended his love beyond Savannah. “Please tell my sweet Chloe how much I love her, and always remind Grayson that he’s my heart and soul,” Savannah shared, visibly moved. Such tender words reveal the deep bond between Todd and his children, a bond that persists despite the physical and emotional barriers of prison.

Savannah also provided an update on how her parents are coping with the immense challenges of their new lives behind bars. “Dad is doing pretty well,” she revealed. “There are tough days, of course — struggles. But we talk to him, email him, and we get to see him sometimes. For that, I am forever grateful.”

Her description of Julie’s experience was equally revealing. “Mom is doing really well, surprisingly,” Savannah said. “She’s made friends, she’s keeping busy, going to church, working, and even playing some spades. It warms my heart to know that despite everything, my parents are okay.”

The Chrisley family’s complex dynamics extend beyond Savannah, Grayson, and Chloe. Todd and Julie share son Chase, 27, while Todd also has two older children, Lindsie Chrisley, 33, and Kyle Chrisley, 31, from his previous marriage to Teresa Terry. Notably, Chloe was adopted by Todd and Julie in 2016, a testament to their commitment as parents amid the chaos.

The family’s custody story is layered and complicated. Todd and Julie began sharing custody of their granddaughter Chloe with Angela Johnson, Kyle’s ex-girlfriend, in 2014 after Kyle lost guardianship amid legal battles and struggles with addiction. In a dramatic turn, two years later, full custody was granted to Todd and Julie following Johnson’s arrest for allegedly defrauding Medicaid and food stamps.

Savannah’s role as guardian has thrust her into a challenging position — balancing her own life, her siblings’ needs, and the shadow cast by her parents’ incarceration. But the weight of responsibility doesn’t deter her from seeking guidance and finding strength in her father’s words.

Her podcast episode offered not only a candid look at the familial fallout from the Chrisley legal saga but also an intimate portrait of a young woman grappling with profound challenges. Todd’s advice to “give yourself some grace” resonates deeply not just as parenting counsel but as a universal message about compassion and self-acceptance in hard times.

The Chrisley family’s journey is far from over. With Todd and Julie still serving lengthy sentences, Savannah is navigating uncharted territory — redefining family bonds, maintaining hope, and striving to keep her siblings grounded. And though the road ahead is uncertain, the enduring love shared between father and daughter remains a poignant beacon amid the turmoil.

As Savannah poignantly put it, “I’m learning how to be the mom they need me to be, even when I feel like I’m not enough. But with my dad’s words in my heart, I’m reminding myself every day to show grace — to myself and to this family.”

The unfolding saga of the Chrisleys serves as a compelling testament to the resilience of family ties, even when tested by scandal, separation, and prison walls. For Savannah, it is a lesson in grace, strength, and unconditional love — a legacy Todd Chrisley continues to impart from behind bars.
