The Weatherfield police are called to investigate a devastating hit-and-run outside the Rovers Return, where both David Platt and Daisy Midgeley are left severely injured after being struck by a speeding car.
Unbeknownst to many, David orchestrated the entire incident, enlisting the help of shady associate Andy Garland to stage a deliberate hit. Desperate and feeling
trapped by his financial struggles and family troubles, David saw no other way out. However, his reckless decision had unforeseen consequences—Daisy, who is pregnant,
was unintentionally caught in the path of destruction.
As Wednesday’s episode left viewers on edge, David’s fate remained uncertain as he was rushed to the hospital. Meanwhile, Daisy’s condition took a heartbreaking turn, with doctors warning that the severity of her injuries might have cost her her unborn child.
With emotions running high, Friday’s episode is set to reveal the full impact of the crash. Tensions rise as suspicions and accusations begin to tear Weatherfield apart, with some residents turning against one another in the search for the truth.
At the police station, DS Lisa Swain informs Kit that Andy has been taken into custody. However, Andy insists the collision was a tragic accident caused by his drunken state.
Hearing this, Kit struggles to keep his emotions in check. Having recently learned that he is the father of Daisy’s unborn child, he is unable to hide his frustration and fury. The big question remains—will Kit be able to uncover the truth behind the crash, or will his personal involvement cloud his judgment?
Meanwhile, Julia Goulding, who plays Shona Platt, recently opened up about filming the intense crash scenes.
“There was a lot of blood,” she revealed. “Jack [P. Shepherd, who plays David] spent days on the ground filming, and we were both covered in this thick, sticky, syrup-like fake blood. It was an incredible experience to shoot.”
Despite the serious nature of the scenes, she shared that the cast found ways to balance the intensity. “We have such a fantastic team on set. You switch from heavy, emotional moments to laughing hysterically between takes. You have to, especially with such hard-hitting storylines.”
